ADA Mission Statement:
The Academy of Doctors of Audiology is dedicated to the advancement of practitioner excellence, high ethical standards, professional autonomy and sound business practices in the provision of quality audiologic care.
Primary Objective:
To be the organization that embraces and promotes audiologists owning the profession through autonomous practice models.
Sub‐Goal 1: ADA members will have the knowledge, skills and resources necessary to achieve an ownership position in professional practices.
Objectives:
- Solidify ADA’s branding/vision to market ADA and maintain its current members, while positioning ADA as the “go to” organization for autonomous audiologists.
- Maintain and increase membership through enhanced products and services.
- Develop enhanced business and clinical resources. (October 31, 2009 launch at convention and ongoing)
- Develop and implement communication strategies that support ADA’s mission. (ongoing)
- Encourage greater volunteerism through enhanced communication efforts at convention and on membership application. (ongoing).
- Create a membership committee. (established by December 2009)
- Achieve 1,000 members. (July 1, 2010)
- Achieve a member retention rate of 95 percent. (July 1, 2010)
- Begin renewal cycle in September (beginning September 2009)
- Encourage onsite renewals at convention (October/November of each year)
- Provide new member orientation activities (Ongoing/bi‐monthly)
- Solicit a new and current member survey/profile (Ongoing, develop by October 31, 2009)
- Develop and implement programs designed to promote ownership of the audiology profession through autonomous practice models.
- Make peer support accessible and affordable in a real and virtual community. (Ongoing)

- Develop educational materials regarding available practice settings covering pros, cons and consequences of practice setting choice.
- Develop communication materials to produce attitudinal changes that create the motivation and desire for ownership of the profession through autonomous practice models among students and current audiologists.

Sub‐Goal 2: ADA members will have continuing access to the information, education and relationships that reflect and support best clinical and business practices.
Objectives:
- Develop and implement programs designed to teach and promote best clinical and business practices.
- Enhance ADA website with new business and clinical content and a fresh design.
- Provide expanded access to ADA best practices programs via real‐time on‐demand vehicles
- Develop relationships with other organizations to advance opportunities for members and cement ADA’ s position as a leader in the profession of audiology.
- Expand ADA’s advocacy efforts.
- Create, promote and expand mentoring opportunities for practitioner‐student and peer‐peer relationships.
- Create an ADA Member Preceptor Program to provide training and clinical rotation opportunities, which meet the needs of the preceptor, student and educational institution.
- Expose audiology students to the autonomous practice of audiology through clinical rotations with ADA members who are practice owners.
