Academy of Doctors of Audiology

Take 5 minutes to call your Representative and Senator today to support or continue to support the Medicare Hearing Care Enhancement Act H.R.1665 or S.2352.Then ask your family, friends, and patients to do the same. We need as many people as possible to ask for their legislators' support.

This is extremely important to our profession right now. The otolaryngologists have been writing or visiting the representatives and senators and on March 10-11 a large contingent of physician organizations that oppose direct access were in Washington D.C. visiting with members of Congress. We must counter their initiative.

Tell your senator and representative that the Department of Veterans Affairs allows veterans to directly access audiologists and has reported that this policy, adopted in 1992, provides high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective hearing care. The Office of Personnel Management allows Federal employees and Members of Congress to directly access audiologists through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Below is a list of our 80 cosponsors for H.R.1665 and the 5 cosponsors for S 2352. If your representative is not listed, it is your job to get his or her support.

Call, fax or email today! We not only want to keep the co-sponsors, we want to double the co-sponsors and show the strength of our support to those who oppose our efforts. To locate your representatives, use the "Find Your Representative" and "Find Your Senator" search tools located at the top of the page on the websites below.
