ADA Comments on CMS Proposed 2021 Revisions to Payment Policies under the Physician Payment Schedule and Other Changes to Part B Payment Policies
The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in response to the Agency’s proposed 2021 revisions to payment policies under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) and Part B Payment Policies.
ADA opposes the proposed 7% reductions in fees for audiology and vestibular services, and is seeking overall payment policies that are commensurate to those for providers classified as practitioners within the Medicare system. Additionally, ADA seeks removal of the physician order requirement for Medicare Part B beneficiaries seeking audiologic care, enhanced hearing screenings and falls risks assessments for beneficiaries in Medicare’s Initial Preventative Physical Examination and Annual Wellnes Visit, and addiotional measures for audiologists in MIPS.
