In this provocative keynote, healthcare innovator and consumer advocate Charlotte Yeh, MD, will challenge audiologists to rethink their role in the patient journey.

Consumer-driven healthcare requires audiologists to move beyond diagnosing and directing the patients in their care to a model that emphasizes collaboration and the co-creation of solutions to their problems.

Drawing on lessons from healthy aging frameworks, consumer technology innovations, patient surveys, and personal anecdotes, Dr. Yeh will explore strategies for building trust, reducing barriers to care, and generating meaningful connections that lead to better individual patient outcomes. An expert panel will also share practical insights that demonstrate how audiologists can effectively lead consumers toward healthier, more connected lives.

**Attendees will be able to:**

1. Describe how consumer-driven healthcare trends and evidence linking untreated hearing loss to social isolation and cognitive decline are reshaping expectations for the audiologist's role in patient care.
2. Identify strategies for shifting from a diagnose-and-direct model to a collaborative, co-creation approach that builds trust, reduces barriers to care, and fosters meaningful patient connections.
3. Describe practical approaches, informed by healthy aging frameworks, consumer technology, and interprofessional perspectives, for leading patients toward more connected, better-supported hearing health outcomes.
